The goals of the CASTL Leadership Program are to foster inquiry and leadership for the improvement of student learning; to develop and synthesise knowledge about learning and teaching; and to promote institutional change in support of the scholarship of teaching and learning.’
The Centre for Excellence in Media Practice is a member of the Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) Leadership Program.
As with CASTL generally, the goals of the CASTL Leadership Program are: fostering inquiry and leadership for the improvement of student learning; developing and synthesising knowledge about learning and teaching; and promoting institutional change in support of the scholarship of teaching and learning. Additionally, the Leadership Program encourages the involvement of undergraduates in classroom research projects, introduction of graduate students to the principles and practices of the scholarship of teaching and learning, commitment to working with and across departments and disciplines, and inclusion of part-time & visiting tutors in teaching and learning initiatives.
To achieve support these goals, institutions in the CASTL Leadership Program work in collaboration with other institutions and organisations with a strong track record of excellence.
