"I have been a governor since 1995 and Chair of Governors since 2004. It has been a privilege to be associated with Maylandsea C.P. School. Governors regularly come into school to monitor lessons. They are always made welcome and teachers are invited to comment on their reports. The Governing body are very proud of the school teaching and support staff, and are pleased to welcome Anglia Ruskin University to our school, to enable others to see the high standards of teaching we expect from all our staff."

Maylandsea Primary School share with us how they developed writing throughout their school with ‘The BIG Write’ initiative.

Mr Rudman: Head Teacher

"Working as a primary school headteacher is an extremely rewarding job. It is, demanding of course, but made easier by working with dedicated and professional colleagues. Every day brings a new set of challenges. Our mission is to provide the best possible education for all the children in our care. Children's primary school years pass so quickly but our contribution helps shape their attitudes and their lives for many years to come."

"I am a year 4 teacher and have a class of 27 children, all with completely different personalities. It is demanding meeting not only the needs of these personalities but their abilities as well, however, it is a challenge I enjoy on a daily basis. It is rewarding seeing them develop over the course of the year ready to set themselves up for their next step in life."

"I run computer club once a week for KS2 children from 12.30-1.00. it is a drop in session, hoping to give computer/ internet time to children who may not have access at home. I use it as a quick way to monitor the use of the school VLE – previously ‘efolio’ now changing to ‘mylearning’. When time allows, take internet safety sessions based on the VLE using ThinkUKnow resources for years 2-6"
