Welcome

Welcome to the ‘The Student Flat’ resource, an innovative and fun interactive resource to help students focus on financial issues and to assist them to plan. The resource features four students who meet to discuss their financial dilemmas. Watch films of their discussions and have a go at the games and quizzes associated with each student’s dilemma.

Analysis of each student’s problem, and the associated games and quizzes, will help to highlight issues around seeking work, paying tax, national insurance, the national minimum wage, difficulty paying bills, the cost of borrowing, interest rates, savings, budgeting and planning.

The resource can either be worked through in parts or as a whole. Each student’s ‘dilemma’, quizzes, games and associated information takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

London Metropolitan University has developed this resource with grant money awarded by the Consumer Financial Education Body (CFEB), and we are most grateful for their support.

The money management and debt prevention work carried out at London Metropolitan University is part of a national 'Money Doctors' project aiming to improve students' financial capability, led by the Financial Services Authority.
We thank the Financial Services Authority for funding this resource.
