The What are we with this again Wiki!

Welcome to the MA Creative Media Practice Wiki. If you don't yet know what a wiki is, it’s probably best that you visit the world's biggest wiki for an explanation (Wikipedia). But there is little point in this space simply duplicating Wikipedia (better to simply contribute articles to that resource, which is something that you might want to do). Instead this space might be used for the following:

1. Collaborative projects relating to MACMP teaching and learning, for example projects to agree assessment critera and strategies;

2. Specific article and book reviews that you want to work on as a group;

3. Anything else you want to suggest (by editing this page).

Short Note from Julian

Well, i've had a play and made a bit of a mess of things - this may be the time for Annie to test the Rollback Facility. If you want to follow my trail of destruction, follow this link Do Not Pass Go - Do Not Collect £200

If you're expereinced programmers, as i think some of you are, this will doubtless be easy. If you, like me, have never done anything like this before, i'd encourage you to dive in so that i don't look stupid by myself.

My top tips would be:

1 - The User Guide is worse than useless unless you already know what to do (it's probably good if you are patient, but my learning style is a little more activist than that)

2. I think we each have a type of Homepage and then a secondary Discussion (or talk) page. You can find a link to mine by following the link above.

3. Once i mastered this (simple) concept, it started to fall into place. I've only managed to do links using the external link button - just copy and paste the link you want from the browser toolbar into the box.

So there we go. Please edit or delete this as it's cluttering up the homepage and now i'm embarrased.

From Joe: I've just pottered with my *User:Jflintham page, though I traipsed sand all over the place, and I agree the user guide is a bit hard to find your way around, but I reckon we'll get used to it - http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Wikitext shows all (?) the ways to format text... I think someone who knows how will move our comments here to the talk section for this page sometime soon :)

From Deb - I am slightly confused, never used a wiki before. Was amused to stumble upon something called a "special page" though.... looking forward to discovering what makes it so.

From Terry: I have also been pottering about and may actually have written something to a special page Deb. At least a page came up and I dropped copy onto it. Now to see if I can find it again.
