The aim of this unit is to develop the students knowledge and understanding of the development of their discipline identifying key events which led to change, analyse the reasons for change and how they were instigated and consider the impact of these incidents on practices and processes. In doing so students will consider the relationship between research, theory and creative change.

The aim of this unit is to develop the students knowledge and understanding of the process of reflection and how it can be applied to their own development as creative practitioners. Students will develop their understandings of reflective tools, will critically evaluate their own previous professional practice, identifying opportunities for the use of reflection, and will create a personal action plan.

This unit enables the student to identify & respond to current issues in their discipline area. Students will develop their ability to apply and extend their knowledge of theories of change and reflective practice. Current production and/or process issues in the workplace issues in need of development will be identified and evaluated. Distinctive and innovative solutions will then be created which demonstrate an understanding of theoretical understandings.

The aim of this unit is to develop in students the ability to demonstrate and defend through a substantial evaluative report the solutions they produced in CMP B1. The report should also demonstrate their engagement with emergent practice and their application of appropriate research methods, including action inquiry. These should be contextualised within their industry and relevant theory. Students will also critically analyse and report upon another students research.

This unit enables the student to identify and respond to future threats and opportunities in their own discipline. They will research, develop and implement a research plan that leads to a production solution which they defend in a viva.

The aim of this unit is to enable students to demonstrate their understanding of the development of their industry, their ability to research and implement solutions to current problems, and in particular their ability to identify, research and provide solutions to significant future challenges. Students will communicate this through an exhibition presented to a selected audience of peers and other stake holders. The exhibition will enable students to demonstrate and reflect upon the significant learning journey they have undertaken, the effectiveness of this exhibition will be critically evaluated.
