Neelam is currently in her 2nd year of her PhD studies. Her project explores the role of New Media Literacy Learning in Early Childhood Education. It considers how young children interact with new media, through an understanding of effective pedagogic practice to become phonetically aware of the smallest units of sounds in speech.
She has collaborated with the Higher Education Academy in Art, Design, and Media Centre and produced a publication in the launch of the Creative Graduates ADM-HEA: Creative Futures Report. Recently, she has published an article with John-Siraj Blatchford in the online HeKupu journal presenting findings from extensive research into phonics teaching in Early Childhood Education.
Neelam worked as a Learning Technologist in the Educational Development Services at BU for two years, and previous to this she worked in a variety of disciplines; focusing on e-commerce and e-finance deliveries. She has also worked in a range of companies such as, Reuters, Moneo, Teachers Assurance and has consulted independently on several e-learning projects. She has a BA (Hons) in Linguistics and Philosophy from The University of Manchester and MSc in Information Systems, Analysis and Design from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
