The venue

Based on Sheffield Hallam’s City Campus, the modern Cantor Building offers a double height lecture theatre, a dramatic three storey glass open atrium, break out rooms, social space, Chef Cantor catering outlet, its very own exhibition area and an active frontage made from innovative ‘Blink’ glass, along with excellent IT facilities and wireless internet access.

As well as being architecturally full of character, the building boasts some of the most sustainable and energy-saving features anywhere in the city. It is a short walk from the University’s main building and conference hotel and only 5 minutes from the railway station and travel interchange.

The Hotel

Novotel Sheffield Centre, 50 Arundel Gate, Sheffield, S1 2PR

The full registration fee includes 4 star bed and breakfast accommodation on the night of the 19th September  at the Novotel Sheffield Centre hotel, a 4 star hotel located in central Sheffield across the road from Sheffield Hallam’s City Campus. Each of the hotel’s 144 stylish and contemporary guest rooms comes with wireless internet and satellite TV and high speed internet and WiFi access is available throughout the hotel. The Elements restaurant and bar serves modern European dishes in a relaxed environment though there are a selection of eateries nearby. The hotel has its own indoor heated pool and relaxation area. Travel information

Sheffield Hallam University’s City Campus and the Novotel Sheffield Centre are located in the Centre of Sheffield approximately 10 minutes from junction 33 of the M1, a two-minute walk from Sheffield’s railway station and right next to Sheffield’s bus and tram Transport Interchange.

On leaving the railway station by the main entrance, head towards The Howard pub across the road. Continue on Howard Street, When you reach The Globe pub on your right you will see the Novotel at the top of the hill on Arundel Gate and the main entrance to Sheffield Hallam University on the left. For the conference venue, turn left at The Globe onto Arundel Street and continue until you reach the Cantor Building on your left.

On-site parking at the Novotel Sheffield Centre is available at £10 for 24 hours. There is no on-site parking at the University but discounted parking, at the rate of £3.20 per day, is available on a token basis at the nearby NCP Arundel Gate multi-storey car park (Pond Street, Sheffield, S1 2PN). On parking you will be issued a token which can be validated at the machine in the main reception of Sheffield Hallam University.
